Our mission is to provide a vital leadership role in advancing volunteering through service delivery, promotion, advocacy and support for individuals and the community.

Southern Volunteering is a not-for-profit organisation which has been in operation since 1984. We provide a comprehensive range of volunteer support services to not-for-profit community organisations primarily within the Local Government Areas of Onkaparinga, Victor Harbor, Alexandrina and Yankalilla, encompassing 3,400sq km and a total population of approximately 200,000.

We offer a volunteer brokerage service enabling individuals in the community to access one on one advice on volunteering opportunities available in the local area.

While the main office is situated at Christie Downs, we also deliver services on the Fleurieu Peninsula at Victor Harbor.

Services include:

•Recruitment and referral of volunteers to approved community organisations
•Training and support for volunteers
•Advocacy for volunteers and volunteer managers
•Facilitation of the Southern Regional Volunteer Managers Network
•Promotion of best practice in volunteering and volunteer management
•Assisting organisations with the development of new volunteer programs
•Auspice of the Community Visitors Scheme - a program providing volunteers to Aged Care Facilities to visit isolated residents on a one to one basis
