More about Southern Biplane Adventures

Launched on the 17th of December, 2010, Southern Biplane Adventures is the brainchild of Chief Pilot and Managing Director Chris Clark. With an aim to re-create the ‘golden age’ of aviation we take our passengers back to a time when pilots were celebrities and barnstorming was their means of performing stunt flights for the masses of people below. But don’t get us wrong, we aren’t about flying our aircraft in a mild manner. Our vintage aircraft re-create the golden age of flying right down to the last barrel roll and are absolute excitement machines! We help our passengers optimize their own adventure, whether that is a scenic route or some stunt action – we look after everyone’s interests!
Our flagship aircraft, a vintage 1943 Boeing Stearman A7N51 named Lilly Warra, discovered in New Hampshire by Chris in his search for an ideal aircraft that would pay homage to the glamour era of aviation. Working alongside Lilly, we also have our aerobatic monster, the Pitts Special S-2C.
We fly during both the weekdays and weekends, operating out of Illawarra Regional Airport. Our location bases us in the greater Illawarra region, as well as putting us right on doorstep of Sydney!
So come and join us at Southern Biplane Adventures, land yourself in Lilly Warra and help us re-create the golden age of aviation, where muscle planes ruled the skies.
