South Sudan Equatorians Association Inc.

SOSEA is a non-profit, non-ethnic, non-religious and non-partisan association based in Victoria, Australia.

Members of the association are Equatorians from South Sudan from the following tribes and ethnic groups from South Sudan Greater Equatoria Region. These are:

Acholi, Azande, Bari, Baka, Buya, Didinga, Dongotono, Ifoto, Kakwa, Kaliko, Kuku, Lango, Lokoya, Lopit, Lugbwara, Lulubo, Lukuru, Madi, Makaraka, Muru, Mundu, Mundari, Nyangbwara, Otuho, Pojulu, Toposa.

The aim of the association is to advocate for democratic ideals, human rights, the rule of law, fairness, justice and equity among its members. The Association is dedicated towards self-help aspirations economically, culturally and socially. The Association pledges to build a strong and vibrant community in Australia based on unity and progress, by facilitating the community's integration and equal participation within the wider Australian Society. The association also strives to advance the unity of Equatorians around the world and in South Sudan and the development of South Sudan Equatoria Region.

SOSEA activities include but not limited to:
- Assisting migrants from South Sudan to integrate into the greater Australian Community. In particular helping young people understand their new life in Australia, and how to get integrated into the multicultural City of Melbourne.
- Organizing social and cultural events and educational activities (workshops, seminars etc) to promote the well-being of equatorians in Victoria.
- Leading initiatives and exploiting the collective talents, skills and ideas of its members to enrich the community.
- Actively recognizing and promoting the central role of women in various aspects of community life.
- Encouraging the community to have a sense of responsibility for the society in which they live.
Encouraging the community to fully participate and contribute to the society in which they live.
- Encouraging the community to effect positive change in the society in which they live, individually or collectively.
- Creating an environment amongst the community that is conducive to personal, mental and professional development.
