Soku-astu is a traditional Japanese massage technique that monks in training used to give each other hundreds of years ago. “Soku” means foot (or feet) and “Atsu” means pressure.
In Sokuatsu therapy, a therapist uses the sole of the foot to massage a client. Since the sole of the foot has about twice the surface area as the palm of the hand, Sokuatsu can give pressure without hurting the client’s soft tissue. This means it’s unlikely for the client to suffer from muscle pain after the session, which some clients may feel with regular deep tissue massage.
Sokuatsu therapy is recommended for the following effects;
Promote blood and lymph circulation
Improve cellular activity
Enhance immune system
Regulate autonomic nerves (Reduce Stress)
Mental stability (Relaxation effect)
