Hair Reduction

IPL targets the melanin pigments in the hair strand.
Light absorbed by the melanin is converted to heat,
destroying the hair follicle. To be effective hair reduction
treatments need to be repeated every 4 - 6 weeks for
approximately 6 - 8 treatments.

Skin Pigmentation

As in hair reduction the IPL targets the melanin in the skin
which is transformed into heat energy. This causes the
breakdown of pigment molecules. To be effective treatment
needs to be repeated every month and requires between
2 - 6 treatments.

Acne

The target chromophore for acne treatment is the bacteria
that causes acne called Porphyrin. When IPL is absorbed by
this bacteria a chemical reaction occurs and a free radical is
created. This free radical destroys the bacteria and assists in
clearing the acne lesions. To be effective this treatment needs
to be repeated every 1 - 3 weeks and requires between 3 - 6
treatments.

Vascular conditions

The IPL targets the chomophore hemoglobin for vascular conditions.
The light absorbed hemoglobin is converted ot heat which
cauterises the endothial walls of capilleries. To be effective
treatment needs to be repeated with intervals of 1 - 2 weeks
and requires between 3 - 6 treatments.

Skin Rejuvenation

The IPL targets the layers of the skin causing the stimulation
of fibroblasts which in turn increase collagen production.
This treatment is non ablative and has little down time compared

treatments.
