Shut the Gate Learn to Swim

Shut the Gate Learn to Swim is a Rockhampton swimming school with a team of staff boasting more than 150 years of swim coaching experience.

We provide swimming lessons for children as young as 3 months through to adults. Our staff are qualified swimming teachers, combining expert knowledge with a well equipped facility to ensure comfortable conditions for learning how to swim. Whether you are new to swimming or a seasoned swimmer looking to improve their stroke, we can help you.

In addition to swimming lessons, Shut the Gate Learn to Swim also conduct water lessons for fitness. We run classes in aqua aerobics, aqua Zumba and hydrotherapy. We offer variety in water aerobics, as well as providing weight loss support. Our team also offer support for diabetics wishing to undertake swimming for fitness.

Our facility is family friendly, we cater to mother’s groups wishing to teach their little ones to swim, as well as swimming lessons for school groups within the Rockhampton region. We stock a range of products to assist your child with their swimming classes, including swimming caps and swimming goggles from Zoggs and swimming nappies.

The swimming instructors at Shut the Gate Learn to Swim are Austswim accredited, many of whom also have Australian and international swimming experience, including many medal wins. We have an Olympic representative who is also teaching swimmers.

Our facility includes two indoor heated saltwater swimming pools with heated changing area, party hire, and a canteen for refreshments, making it the ideal location for swimming all year round.
