More about Sharkview

The patented method that is proving successful is based not on a single magic bullet to scare sharks off but by a number of factors working together to avoid random encounters by not being noticed. If you cant be seen you wont be approached. If we avoid the encounter we avoid the attack. Simple as that.

The system is based on natural hunting behaviours and consideration of the shark's viewpoint rather than a human idea of what a shark sees and how they act. Adaptive Camouflage mimics what silver fish scales do to hide from predators in mid water that has evolved over 300 million years. As with fish it cannot be static it needs to match the changes in light and water colour instantly. It done by the use of an optically engineered patterned reflective film either as External Decal or Internal fitted inlay for surfboards. The effect will copy the colour of the surrounding water, removing the outline and not triggering the shark to investigate closer. It wont limited geographicly by time of day, water colour or light levels.

Our wetsuits are designed with the shark's point of view as the starting point and is based on their visual capabilities not any current fashion trends or gimmicks. They blend in with the board and surface, simulate what is commonly found in the water or have a pattern that sharks choose to avoid. As the materials do not have the same reflective properties as the board there are variations for locations to fit in with the natural surroundings. They are a Base Camouflage alone, or over laid with a Familiar Object or an Avoided Item for Surfers and Triathlons (CM15) and Underwater for Divers and Spear fishers (GM4.) After 50 years of black its time wetsuits evolved.
