Shane's publications include a series of science fiction stories where Game of Thrones meets Star Wars: The Lesser Evil; Peaceful Tomorrows; The Game; and All The King's Men. He has also written the vegetarian zombie story Undad, and the post-apocalyptic musical adventure romance James Flamestar. His oddest achievement is getting a comic published in a refereed academic journal.

His graphic novels have been shortlisted in the Australian Shadows Awards, the ACT Writing and Publishing Awards, and twice in the Aurealis Awards.

Current works-in-progress include an epic fantasy graphic novel entitled Triumviratus, and Line in the Sand, an interaction fiction experiment in the science fiction genre.
