Scouting makes a direct and positive impact on the community by teaching positive values and leadership skills to youth. Every year, Scouting youth and their leaders contribute thousands of volunteer hours to their local communities.

Sharing time with the aged in the local community, helping with Clean Up Australia Day, Harmony Day and planting trees to help with the Murray-Darling River Rescue are just a few examples of the commitment Scouts make to their communities.

They also participate in many different activities including abseiling, rock climbing, archery, canoeing, hiking and camping as well as activities that teach them resilience and independence.

Taking ownership of programming, learning to manage risk, working on Leadership skills as well as doing practical things like First Aid and Cooking and doing fun things like national and international camps and Jamborees are some of the great things that Scouting youth get involved in.

Plan Do Review is a structured improvement framework which encourages Scouting youth to assess and improve what they do.

Scouts are Messengers of Peace - aiming to create a better world globally by acting locally.
