A marine biologist with a love of flowers, I have decided to hang up my snorkel and pick up some snips!
Scouts Garden is in its infancy, but eventually I aim to provide our community with seasonal, organic, locally grown blooms. Flowers which have not been flown in from far away lands, but lovingly and naturally nurtured and hand picked, right here on our lovely property in Beechworth. These will one day be available at the farm gate, at local markets and through select local florists.
The inspiration behind my journey into the world of flowers is my beloved German Shorthair Pointer, Scout. She taught me to slow down and appreciate the beauty around me, and find joy and wonder in the tiniest things. Sadly, Scout passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, and she now sleeps forever in our garden, under the shade of a silver birch tree. However, her joy and vibrancy will live on in the many beautiful flowers such as peonies, dahlias and sweet peas that I hope to grow where her paws once ran - all of which will flower that little bit brighter with Scouts love.
From digging in the first bed, to planting the first bulb and seed, and watching the first flowers appear: I look forward to sharing my journey with you!
