I was just a girl.

I would say ‘I was just a girl with a dream’, but that part didn’t come until a little later.

I had heard of Scentsy because of my exposure to the concept via American Consultants on Twitter in about 2010. I honestly remember browsing the range thinking “this is AMAZING! Trust back woods Australia to be missing the boat on this”.

You can imagine my happiness when an online acquaintance shared the Scentsy Catalogue on Facebook in 2013. I was floored! Scentsy had just launched in Australia, and a split-second decision to jump on buying myself a heavily discounted starter kit of Scentsy products was about to start a Scentsy Butterfly Effect that would change the trajectory of my life, and my family’s lives forever.

Remember “I was just a girl”? In actual fact, I was just a pregnant mother of three young children with an anxiety disorder and very little self-worth. I truly loved (and still love) being a stay at home Mum. The thing is though, you don’t generally get a whole lot of praise and recognition for growing and raising well-adjusted little people. It can be a very thankless job, and one that society doesn’t tend to hold in the highest regard.

My Scentsy Starter Kit arrived and I knew that Scentsy Products were going to be a permanent fixture in our house, car, and anywhere else we spent time. I just hadn’t looked past a love for Scentsy Products… yet!

The dream didn’t really take shape for me until the pressure of being told I had destroyed our family car after limping it to the mechanics on a hot day, and the knowledge that my husband was about to be made redundant in the same month I gave birth to our 4th child really combined to ignite a passion in me to make it happen.

I began sharing my passion for Scentsy products and the Scentsy business opportunity with everyone I could think of. You know what? They loved it just as much as I did! My friends and family began buying, hosting and joining Scentsy with me – and we were having a blast!
(Guess what? The car turned out to be fine!)

Fast forward 4 years and I am at the top of Scentsy’s Global Compensation plan as a SuperStar Director. I have won every award there is to shoot for in Scentsy – including the prestigious Shining Star Award. I have travelled the world for free (with a guest) several times. Scentsy even took myself and my husband to Africa as part of being in the Top 100 Scentsy Consultants in the world!

My family love the person I have become after welcoming Scentsy into my life. I still suffer from anxiety; the difference is you wouldn’t be able to tell just by meeting me now. Being a part of Scentsy really broke me out of a cage I didn’t know I was living in – and I’m never going back!

I have met hundreds upon hundreds of people – many of whom I now call my dearest friends because I took a chance and became an Independent Scentsy Consultant.

I don’t tell you this to brag. I tell you this because I’m still just a girl. I’m a scent slingin’, world travelling, success chasing girl with a dream that only gets bigger by the minute. Dare to dream.
