Sassafras Springs

Sassafras Springs is a collection of four unique cosy eco-friendly Tasmanian cottages set on a peaceful 107 acre property at Ellendale, 1 ½ hour drive from Hobart through the picturesque Derwent River valley. Delicious home-cooked meals can be enjoyed in the Cafe looking out over the picturesque scenery.

Enjoy rainforest walks by the bubbling Sassafras Creek or relax and enjoy our organic farm free from the stresses of city life.

Most of the property is covered with beautiful temperate rainforest with a proliferation of sassafras, myrtle, ferns, moss, and the world’s tallest flowering tree – the eucalyptus regnans.

Little people might enjoy the Story Hut and Playground and an Art Hut might entice out your creative side.
