The main role of Sandy Point Community Group (SPCG) is to provide strong advocacy in support of improved facilities, infrastructure, and recreational facilities within the local community.
SPCG also conducts community events, especially those which involve community strengthening activities and social events for families, such as the Sandcastle Competitions on the surf beach each year, one in Easter and one during Christmas holidays (usually between Christmas and New Year), and the annual Foodies Market in January.
Financial support and assistance with grant applications is also a role of SPCG and has acted as the facilitator to apply for grants on behalf of other Sandy Point community groups which are not eligible to apply for grants.
To perform its role, SPCG conducts a few fund raising activities throughout the year.
