Samuel Burns Health and Wellness

My name is Samuel Burns and I'm an aspiring Exercise Physiologist. I've completed the Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and am part-way through post-graduate Clinical Exercise Physiology study at Federation University.

I have almost three years experience working as an Allied-Health Assistant at one of Ballarat's largest hospitals, on both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation wards; and have been fortunate to be able to learn from, and work alongside, some of the best Surgeons, Rehabilitation Nurses and Physicians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Exercise Physiologists in the business!

With a lengthy history of chronic disease and disability in my family, I am extremely driven to promote optimal health and well-being for all. Growing up in the under-privileged suburb of Wendouree West, I am passionate about community health, public awareness, and equal access to healthcare. Whilst my aim is to continue to grow, learn, and gain as much experience to be the best clinician I can be, I have created this project to get the ball rolling on what will one day be a front-runner in the Exercise Science/Physiology industry.

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP’s) are allied-health professionals who specialise in the delivery of exercise, lifestyle and behavioural modification programs, for the prevention and management of chronic disease, injuries and disabilities. AEP’s provide physical activity and behavioural change support for clients with conditions such as: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, depression, cancer, arthritis, COPD and many more.
