After breeding stud cattle for 30 years we “discovered” dorpers in 2013, after purchasing a property on the northern tablelands in NSW, we bought a few dorper ewes for ration sheep and to eat the bush. We were so impressed with how they performed in dry times and on marginal land, we could see their potential, especially in lower rainfall areas. Then we got serious, researching and hunting down the best possible genetics to produce a good, big mobile sheep, We have been very specific with the type of sheep to begin our breeding program, aiming for a genetically strong, consistent type.
