Sale Field & Game

Sale Field & Game branch was formed in 1958 by a group of field sportsmen who were concerned at the lose of wetlands and habitat for waterfowl. Today the club has 1100+ members and is actively involved in the conservation of wetlands and waterfowl.

Conservation activities include the service and maintenance of in excess of 300 artificial nesting sites for waterfowl on Lake Wellington, ongoing involvement in local revegetation projects, pest plant and animal control, waterfowl and water quality monitoring.

Our Branch operates a successful clay target range at Longford. Shoots are conducted on the 3rd Sunday of the month, offering simulated field, skeet, 5 stand and a fully catered canteen. Shooting commences at approx. 9:30am. Members and visitors can choose to compete in the monthly competition or shoot practice target only. The branch offers free coaching to beginners on the day prior to our shoot from 2:30 – 3:30pm. Competition is conducted over open grades, ladies, veterans and two junior categories.
