We are a non-profit Co-ed Roller Derby Club which was originally established in 2012 under the name Sale City Rollers. Due to increasing interest from outside the Sale area, in 2017 we changed our name to Gippsland Lakes Roller Derby. We are now made up of members including referees, Non Skating Officials (NSO's) and of course Bouting, developmental and recreational SKATERS with ages ranging from 15-60.
Together with our sister clubs in Latrobe, Wheat City, Mildura & Mornington we make up a team called Team Regional Victoria (TRV) The Rolling Matilda's. We compete across the state as part of The Statewide Stampede Roller Derby Tournament, United Roller Derby Playoffs (URDP) and others.
We currently have 3 bouting members, with many others working their way through the ranks. We are proud of our little club and how far we have come in the last four years. The Sale City Rollers name will always be an integral part of GLRD's history and reminds us of how it all started.
Our aim is to improve our strength, skills and inner selves as individuals and work together to build a strong team. We are an inclusive club with a focus on fun while getting fit!
