Roti on Wheels

A Caribbean delight, roti is a soft tortilla-like wrap homemade from flour, salt, water and ghee, cooked on a hotplate and then filled with a delicious Caribbean curry and folded into a tidy parcel ready to eat.

Peter Richmond was born in Trinidad but grew up on the northern beaches of Sydney where he learned all the secrets of making a great roti from his mum and dad who owned and operated Australia’s first Caribbean roti shop, Caribbean Kitchen in Dee Why, Sydney NSW for 12 years.

The whole family were brought up making and eating the delicious roti. Colin "Calypso Col", Peter's brother owned and ran the Gold Coast's favourite roti shop at Mermaid Beach,The Roti Hut, whilst his sister and brother in-law owned and ran the Roti King in Cairns.

Roti on Wheels is based at Palm Beach on the Gold Coast. Our rotis are made fresh to order for delivery or follow us to locations around the a Gold Coast.
