B.R.A.C.E is about empowering Children and adults with skills to use in serious or life-threatening situations.
Our programs include:
• Advanced self-defence. These are specifically designed to cover home invasions, dealing with drug affected assailants and incidents of domestic violence.
• Self-confidence & anger management training
• Resilience training
• Goal setting
B.R.A.C.E is the brain child of former professional rugby league player Ben Roarty and school teacher Katie Buultjens.
Ben played professional rugby league for 4 years with Melbourne Storm. He also has a mixed martial arts (MMA) back ground and In recent times Ben spent 5 years working in the Victorian prison system involved with the Riot squad fine-tuning his self-defence tactics for real life situations.
Katie is an established school teacher with 10 years’ experience working in various state, private and catholic schools across Victoria.
Both Ben and Katie share a combined vision to empower the community, starting with our youth.
The defensive tactics taught in our programs are a range of body language, verbal and physical strategies which can assist in a dangerous or life-threatening situation.
Activities include, basic self-defence, verbal self-defence, body positioning for escape, escaping holds, open hand strikes, closed hand strikes(punch), kicks, knees, pressure points, info gathering for police evidence, self-defence from the floor (on your back or front) and many more techniques. These programs can be a one-off session that runs for 45 mins to 1.5 hours or, can be a series of sessions over a period of weeks.
