Riverton Library

Riverton is the central, and largest, of the four libraries which make up the City of Canning Library Service. As well as providing services to its local community, Riverton houses the Library Administration staff, including the Manager, Library Services, who have responsibilities across the whole service.

The library building was opened in 1997, replacing a much smaller predecessor, which was subsequently demolished as part of the development of the Riverton Leisureplex.

The library and the Leisureplex now form a joint cultural and recreational facility.

Riverton offers over 60,000 items for loan or reference, and is open seven days per week

We provide a FREE library and information service from four branch libraries, in Riverton, Willetton, Queens Park and Bentley.


You can also use an online service to find and reserve titles, and renew loans.

The libraries have a wide range of books (in ordinary and large print), magazines and newspapers, online databases, pamphlets, music, videos and DVDs, CD-ROMs, jigsaw puzzles, and books in other languages, for adults and children to borrow, or to use for reference and research.

You can browse the internet, check your email, join our special services for children, youth or seniors, find a space to study, or just sit and enjoy a relaxing read.
