More about ReWild

Re Wild - "to introduce to their original habitat or to a habitat similar to their natural one"

"to return to a more natural state"

ReWild is about recreating a connection between Humans and their environment that positively enhances lives.
In modern times, due to the amount of time spent indoors and the emphasis of modern lifestyles on intellectual process many people experience a weakened connection to the natural world. Some people to the point of complete disassociation.
Being connected to nature is our innate human state. Without this connection we fail to thrive.

Nature Connection
Is:
• Understanding that we are not separate to nature, it is not Us and Nature, we are of Nature.
• Being aware of our reliance on nature to survive
• Experiencing the wonder of Natures ability to sustain and nurture us
• Ability to harness nature’s abundant resources in a sustainable and responsible way
• An awareness of the plants and animals that share our planet
• The ability to use our senses to read nature and to use physical skills to respond.

Our ReWild classes and workshops aim to reawaken that connection.
By immersing ourselves in the natural world and experiencing nature rain, hail or sunshine; by participating in activities and games designed to reawaken the senses.

Learn to Survive, Learn to Thrive

But ReWild is more than just games and nature play.

ReWild is a skills based program.

We believe that learning techniques of survival and primitive technology helps reawaken the connection to nature that our primitive ancestors experienced.

The act of physically doing reawakens innate neural pathways in our brains.

Through mindfully, ecologically manipulating the abundance of resources provided by nature; re-learning primitive skills like making cordage, lighting fires, building shelter, foraging and tracking, is the best way to open the mind, emotions and spirit to our innate human connection to the natural world.

When we re-experience this connection it affects our lives in so many ways.
Instead of just surviving we begin to thrive.
