Quandle Art

Quandle Art was started out of a need to match preferred scents to the colour themes that houses were decorated in.
I have understood for years the magickal nature of fire, both on a spiritual level, and because of it’s ability to hide things that are much more obvious under artificial lights.
The idea for Quandle Art came about a few years ago when some friends saw some hand poured and decorated candles that I had in my lounge room. These candles, although very beautiful and something I would love to continue doing, quickly became something I realised were far too time consuming to make and delicate to shift. For this reason they are no longer part of my every day catalogue.
They did get me thinking though. I’d always loved candles, and I also love food. I also knew that candle making was something that was relatively easy for me to do, and so I started looking into it as a business option. I also knew that because I’d spent a while trying to make money as an artist, and had learnt calligraphy as a teenager, that decorating candles for people in ways other than my original designs was still an option.
Candles that smelt like foods and still looked like candles, where could I get them from? It seems that I had to make them.
This was the birth of Quandle Art.
