More about Purely Bulk Foods

Welcome to Purely Bulk Foods, Sydney's North Shore local buying group for unpackaged bulk whole foods. Saving money and the planet!

How Purely Bulk Foods work

As prices of products fluctuate due to seasons and stock availability, we will upload a new price list and order form at the start of every month. This will include up-to-date pricing as well as any specials and new product types requested by members.

Orders will then need to be emailed to us by the 15th of each month.

We will collate the orders from everyone and determine if we have enough to put in a bulk order. We will then email you back a confirmation order, with any changes if any items are not available (eg: we didn't meet minimum order quantity, or they don't have any of the item in stock).

The confirmation order will have your total order amount showing – this is what you owe.

Payment can be made via direct deposit (our preferred method so as to avoid the hassle of finding change), but you can pay cash on pick-up.

The pick-up process

When the supplier has delivered the bulk order to us, we will send you an email to let you know it’s ready for pick-up (we expect it to take one week from order to delivery).

Orders can be picked up from Wahroonga or Chatswood for free. We are happy to deliver the items to your home for an extra fee ($4.00 within a 10-kilometre distance from Wahroonga)

A note on packaging

Besides saving money by buying in bulk, one of our motivations for organising this initiative comes from the potential of reducing packaging and therefore reducing waste and what goes into landfill, which is kinder to the environment.

Therefore, in order to split the order up from the bulk quantities into the individual quantities for each order (eg: 10kg bag of cashews into 1kg lots), we strongly encourage you to bring in your own reusable containers such as old glass jars or Tupperware.

We can provide environmentally-friendly packaging at a small cost.
