Starting in 1996, Terry and Kym Purcell, locally owned and operated their
business from scratch with a ute, a trailer and a shed. Over the next 15 years
their business has developed into one of the largest and most well equipped
machine shops and lineboring businesses in the CQ region supporting the local
community, local industry and the Queensland mining industry.
Purcell’s completed a huge expansion in 2010 which included the purchase of
new equipment and employment of new specialised staff and apprentices. “We
have a fully equipped modern machine shop with latest state of the art large
capacity cnc lathes, mills and borers”.
The local business employs 36 staff including six apprentices, CNC Programmers,
Fitter/Machinists and boilermakers. Our onsite capabilities are second to none
with 10 lineboring units ready to help your needs. We can machine holes on site
from 40mm up to an impressive 5700mm. Purcell’s can also on site mill motor
bases and mounting pads, on site lathe for shaft repairs , flange face repairs,
recut key ways and set up machines with our state of the art 3 axis laser or
coupling aligner.
