Puppy Life Skills Puppy classes are positive reinforcement, socialization and learning classes designed to assist puppies and adult dogs in building confidence to develop and mature into a well-adjusted, well mannered, canine citizens.

Puppy Classes are designed to:
Teach puppy the basic necessary behaviors – sit, drop/down, loose lead walking, stay, recall.

Teach focus, calm, hand targeting – this gives skills to owners, enabling them to handle situations in which their puppy may not feel comfortable.

Socializing with other puppies in a controlled manner. Classes are not puppy free for alls.

Experience being handled by different people, experience different things – going through tunnels, very low jumps.

Trouble shoot – Issues such as toilet training, jumping, nipping, barking, separation anxiety.

Encourage owners to realize the more time they put into puppy now helps to decrease the possibility of issues later in puppy’s life.

Teach healthy nutrition, advice on the correct health products available for each size/breed of puppy and their usage, advice on value of toys and their use.

All the family is encouraged to come to class. It is important that they are “all on the same page” when training. Children learn how to effectively train puppy and how to behave around a puppy.

Classes are not puppy ‘free for alls’, a boisterous puppy allowed to scare and harass a quiet puppy can seriously impair the dog to dog development of both shy and boisterous puppies. All on/off lead socialization is strictly controlled.

Adult classes are designed to:
Consolidate behaviours introduced in puppy school.

Focus on manners in the home, - doorway behaviour, polite meet & greet within the home and on the street.

Calm behaviour within the house.

Being polite,calm and at ease around other dogs.

Assisting with behaviour modification for fearful or boisterous dogs.

The cost of puppy classes:

$90.00 for 5 weeks. Payment required prior to the commencement of the course. Ongoing attendance to the puppy classes, if required, after 5 weeks is free.

Adult classes:

$15.00 per week with option to purchase 8 classes for $100.00.
