Our interest began in 1980"s when we attended a horse course in Young where the lecturer described an Australian warmblood called a waler and its history as lighthorse mount but they were no longer available. So when I saw a program on Burke's backyard about their plight in the Northern Territory my interest was piqued. I immediately set abut finding out how I could help these Australian horses be saved from extinction. It all started with the purchase of our 1st mare Providence Gaza who ended up being the dam of Providence El Arish one of the founding stallion of the Waler Horse Society. We then managed to acquire 2 weanlings Providence Carbineer and Providence Bishari who originated from Jinka station in 1989. These 2 horse have become the foundation of our stud today. Between them they have produced sires such as Providence Redman.
