More about Powercruise Street Outlaws

Powercruise Street Outlaws (PSO)

Where: Powercruise 1 Day Powerplay Queensland Raceway
When: 1st PSO Race 8th February 2014. Gates for Outlaws open 3pm first race 5pm.
Cost: $1.00 to PSO contenders first 45 to nominate get in plus 5 wildcards. At non Powercruise events, $10 to watch. It’s $1 for legal reasons
Why: To create the PSO Top 10 List for the once a month PSO races.
Rules: There are non really. Run what ya brung, your choice of 1 race or best of 3 or best of 5 to decide.

Who’s in?
Who wants to go race and create a top 10 list, later expanded to a top 50 list so that more people can be involved each month the races are held. The rules are simple, there are none. Run what ya brung, no rules or limits on cars, tyres, nitrous, turbos or sizes, race cars or street cars, trailer queens or show and shiners anyone can have a go.

How's it start?
To begin we have to establish the Top 10 List. To do this, all nominations will be seeded by me based on the information you have sent in with your form. This means any car capable of running 8 second passes on the Dragstrip will be paired up with the next closest similar timed car to race each other for the top 10 list order. The rest of the order will be run down to top 50 to allow everyone a chance in to race. This will be how the first ever round of racing will happen to create the list. After that is done, each month or thereabouts, you will have 30 days to call out the person next position up the list from you. You can talk shit, have a wager (Disclaimer; I'm not allowed to suggest you bet money on races) call out the guy above and setup the race for the next event. You can only call out the guy 1 position above you. If he doesn’t show, cant race or is unable to race or is broken or wont make it, you automatically go up a position without even having the race. You must show up though. Is he is ok to run, then your set to race. A no show means you drop down 1 position.

For Example:
If number 5 calls out number 4, they call each other or have their managers duke it out to set the race up. If number 6 wants to call out number 5 after the 5 v 4 race is organised, then the lowest ranked race must happen first. Then on the night, other races can be organised but must be along the same rules as you can only challenge the next guy up from you. You must be on the top 50 list to be allowed to challenge for a position up the list.

Not on the Top 50 list?
If you’re not on the top 50 list, you can come to the event where all non-list members must race round robin to create the number 51 spot and this racer is the only one permitted to challenge the number 50 on the list. Then from there number 50 must always race the winner of the non-list members first at the next event before he is allowed to challenge the number 49 and so on. You must be on the list to challenge for a position on the list. You cannot come from the outside and challenge anyone but the number 50 spot. You must have raced the non-list members to be permitted a challenge at number 50 spot. Races racing in the non-list races for the shot at number 50 will race Powercruise format, loser leaves, winner advances until there is 1 winner. These races are to be run 1 shot only. Not best of 3 or 5.

Top 50 Racing Format!
From here the night moves on so whoever is in the number 50 position, will race 49 if that race is on. Then if 43 wants to race 42, that would be the next race. Then if 43 beats 42, he is then able to call out 41 and race him if he is there and ready to race, if he isn’t, or doesn't want to race, there is 30 days to arrange it for next event. So assuming not everyone will show every time, and if you haven’t been called out, then you can’t drop down the list. Positions on the list can only be swapped not replaced. The last race of the night will happen after all the shuffling around has been done and run so the last race will always be the for the number 1 position on the list, assuming anyone wants to call he or she out. Top 50 members can race either way 1 shot or best of 3 or best of 5 but all races must happen consecutively if this way is chosen with no more than 3 minutes between races otherwise positions stay the same or person who comes to the line on their own advances.

Racing Rules!
Yes there are some rules. Safety is paramount and will not be sacrificed for any reasons at all. Cars on the top 50 list must run the safety gear on their car and their person as they would if they were racing on a Dragstrip. For example, if your number 45 and run a 12.30 second time slip on a Dragstrip, then you must wear the same clothing and have your car up to this standard. If your at number 4 and run a 7 second pass on a Dragstrip, then you must wear the same clothing as you would if you were racing on a Dragstrip and your car must meet the same safety requirements. Everyone will be racing under a Powercruise insurance permit as supplied to Powercruise and it operates under a safety check system whereby you are responsible for making sure the car is safe and that you are wearing the correct safety equipment as per the information above. Powercruise Chief has the deciding word on all of the above but is not bound by any legal contract. The standard Powercruise event entry form and disclaimer will need to be signed by you before you can race. These rules are based on permissions already given to race Off Street Racing at Powercruise only difference the cars are seeded for closer racing and the cars will be faster.

You will be allowed to do 1 rolling through water burnout only per race. No dry hops. Burnouts can be as long as you like. Burnouts MUST begin while your rolling through the water or your tyre is in the water. Static burnouts for more than 1 second will result in instant disqualification and a fine of $500 and removal from the list. Damage to the track surface is not an option so do the right thing and everyone will be able to have a good time. The startline will be moved forward and rearward at the discretion of the starter for purpose of even wear on the track surface. All races will be started with a torch held by the starter in the middle of the track 1m in front of the start line. Video footage will be taken of false starts and will also be on the finish line in case there is any doubt. Traction compound is NOT permitted to be used in any case either places on the track or the tyres. False starts or if you jump the start before the light means you will lose. If you have raced already during the night and someone calls you out, you have the option to race immediately or not for 30 days it’s your call. You are not bound to race more than once in 30 days if you choose not to. Top 10 cars are bound to have at least 1 race per month if their car is in attendance. To make it clear, if 43 wants to race 42, but 44 wants to call out 43, then 43 must race 44 first, then race 42 if he is still 43. After this, assuming 43 loses to 42, he does not have to accept a further challenge from 44 or anyone in the 44 position. 1 defending race is minimum, then any call out races are on his terms and his decision. The Chief’s decision if final.

Sportsmanship…
Remember this is all about having fun. Anyone cheating, although I'm not sure how that could be done with the minimal rules we have, but if they are in any way found to be cheating, permanent removal from the list is the end result. If 44 calls out 43 and he can’t race the following month, 43 has the option to take the position, or wait until 44 is ready a month later and race then. This would be an example of good sportsmanship but the flipside is that if 43 is foxing and had no intentions of having his car ready and just wanted to keep his position for an extra 30 days, this is regarded as not very sportsman like.

I hope it’s not too complicated, it really is easy, just remember you must be on the list to call someone out. The lowest list members eg#50 race first. Only 1 position on the list at a time can be improved. You could show up one night and be on top of the list by the end of the night if in deed the whole top 50 are in attendance and agreed to race.
