Post Office 176 is located in the original New Town Post and Telegraph building circa 1891, a wonderful Edwardian land mark on New Town Road. It houses Cafe 176 - Meegan McQueen, a a design gallery, a gift shop, meeting rooms, a teaching studio / event space and the Not Junk Resource Hub.

It is an art and cultural venue that promotes local Tasmanian artists, makers, and producers. Post Office 176 offers a warm and welcoming space, overflowing with vintage, retro and handmade furnishings, original art works, hand crafted pieces and great tasty food made on site.

Cafe 176 is a cosy vintage cafe, open seven days a week with a full breakfast menu, a variety of lunch options and beautiful high teas.

There is an art gallery, vintage gifts and children's treasures on the upper level, and the teaching studio in the rear building is an amazing light filled space where artists and teachers can share their knowledge and skills.

Post Office 176 can be reached by catching a bus in Elizabeth Street near the mall, and heading north for ten minutes to bus stop 13 in New Town Road.
