Pilbara Photographics

Pilbara Photographics began with Peter Carter, a professional photographer who had a passion for the remarkable landscapes and environment unique the Pilbara region of Western Australia. This resulted in the production and sales of images through short term tenancy agreements within several townships of the Pilbara (Newman, Broome and Port Hedland). After four years of travelling, Peter recognised the desperate need for professional photography services in the area and hence, Pilbara Photographics was born in South Hedland Shopping Centre in July 2008.

Seven years on, Pilbara Photographics continues as a successful and independent business. Providing landscape and commercial photography, memorabilia, camera equipment and associated sundries to not only the town, but all who visit. This business is the conduit of tourism within Port Hedland, showcasing the town, highlighting the beauty of the area and encouraging visitors who ‘like what they see’ within the gallery, to continue their travels and see what other Pilbara destinations can offer.

Looking to the future, Pilbara Photographics is destined for greatness. With a brand new state of the art (solar / self sufficient) building encompassing a shopfront, gallery and coffee shop all with the same high level of customer service and reputation, this company epitomises what a business in the Pilbara should be.
