Physiopaedics Children’s Physiotherapy is a private physiotherapy practice for children aged 0-18 years. The practice services children and their families, providing a fun, relaxed, child-friendly environment to receive physiotherapy.
Our rooms are equipped with toys, books, games and bright colours to help children enjoy their physiotherapy.
Physiopaedics Children’s Physiotherapy provides the highest quality physiotherapy service for children with:
- Developmental Delay: babies who have difficulty or delay in gross motor development, i.e., rolling, sitting, crawling, walking
- Disabilities: Cerebral Palsy, Brain Injury, Down’s Syndrome, Spinal Cord Injury, Spina Bifida, Autism (ASD) and any other rare syndromes or conditions
- Congenital conditions: talipes equinovarus (TEV), congenital calcaneovalgus (CCV), developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), as well as other conditions such as torticollis (always looking to one side) and brachial plexus injuries
- Gross motor difficulties: ball skills, balance, coordination, strength, clumsiness, Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)/Motor Dyspraxia
- Gait/walking problems: in-toeing, out-toeing, flat feet, toe-walking, “knock knees” (genu valgus), “W” sitting
- Orthopaedic conditions: application of plaster casts for fractures, therapy post-fracture and after casting
Services include:
* Individual assessment and therapy
* Development of home and school programs
* Home and school visits
* Liaison with other professionals involved in the child’s care (e.g., doctors, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, teachers, early intervention workers)
* Serial casting for muscle shortening, talipes, toe-walking, disabilities
* Thermoplastic night splints to maintain muscle lengths
* Application/prescription of equipment (e.g., Pavlik Harnesses, walking aids)
* Simple orthotics
* Application and removal of plasters for fractures
* Comprehensive reports
* Therapy through the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program - speak to your GP for further information

Referrals
Anyone can refer to Physiopaedics Children’s Physiotherapy – parents /careers, doctors, teachers, schools/pre-schools, allied health professionals, early intervention workers. A doctor’s referral is not necessary - unless using the EPC program.
Waiting Time
For all new referrals, an appointment is organised at the time of the initial contact – therefore minimising any waiting time!
Cost
All fees are claimable from most private health funds – check your fund for rebates. HICAPS is also available at both locations to enable easier access to rebates!
