Dr Phil Lambert PSM
Phil has extensive experience in education as a principal, inspector, Executive Director, Assistant Director-General, Regional Director (Sydney public schools) and General Manager, Australian Curriculum where he recently led the development of Australia’s first national curriculum. He has authored books and presented a number of papers and keynotes at national and international conferences. Phil completed his doctorate at the University of Sydney where he is now Adjunct Professor. He is also Adjunct Professor at Nanjing Normal University, China and was Visiting Professor at Taiwan Southern University. He is both a Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders and the Australian College of Educators (ACE). He is also President of the NSW ACE, Chair of the ACE National Council and a member of the ACE Board.

Phil has received a number of honours and awards. In the 2012 Queen’s Birthday Honours he was awarded the Public Service Medal for his outstanding contribution to education. He was also acknowledged for his outstanding community work and leadership in a unanimous resolution in the Parliament of NSW. Phil represented NSW at the World Educational Leadership Conference in Boston and at the World Expo in Shanghai. He was a member of the Australian team at the 2013 Global Education Leaders Program in New Delhi and London in 2014. In 2015 Phil provided expert advice to the OECD, Japan and Korea on the embedding of 21st Century skills in curriculum. In March 2016 he was commissioned by the NSW Education Minister to undertake a review of the Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards. He is also currently providing leadership and expert advice in national curriculum reforms in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Brazil and has been appointed by the OECD as the curriculum expert to the OECD Education 2030 Project.

He was the 2013 recipient of the prestigious Australian College of Educators’ award, the Sir Harold Wyndham Medal.

Phil has many interests and contributes to society in various ways. He was an industry judge for the 2013 TV Week Logie Awards and he is a member of the National Rugby League Central Advisory Committee. Phil is Deputy Chair of Our Watch Board – the national foundation to prevent violence against women and their children, a Director on the Australian Government Financial Literacy Board and a member of the NSW Children's Court Advisory Committee. He is currently featured in an exhibition of 50 Positively Remarkable People from Sydney.
