Perth Metro Pipe Band was formed in Western Australia on the 11th of March 2007 by a small group of pipers and drummers who shared a vision to improve the standard of piping and drumming in Perth by sharing their experience, particularly to young people.
Within a short period of time, membership of Perth Metro increased with players determined to improve their abilities and be part of an organisation that focuses on individual and team development.
Perth Metro was graded by the Australian Pipe Band Association to grade 3 in November 2009 and has been highly successful in that grade since.
The band proudly wears a new tartan called Lion Heart.
Perth Metro is led by Pipe Major James Cowie and a team who have significant grade 1 contest experience and a passion for helping others in their musical journey.
