Pentridge is unique. Built of solid bluestone, its foundations are firmly rooted in Melbourne’s history. Pentridge Coburg is an exciting project to reinvigorate the northern-most section of this iconic treasure, encompassing A, B, E and H Divisions as well as the Warden’s Quarters and Parade Ground.

We’ve recently overseen a massive restoration project to restore the original heritage fabric as authentically as possible – including A and H Divisions and the iconic guard towers along the site perimeter – through extensive consultation with heritage experts, and with a team of master builders working with traditional tools and methods.

The vision for Pentridge is to create a vibrant, well-designed urban village that invigorates this important historical asset, honouring the past while welcoming the future. New and historical architecture will sit side by side, and the heart of Coburg reborn as a thriving centre of creativity, culture and commerce for the community, including a Palace Cinema complex and award-winning restaurants such as Zero 95.

Preserving the site’s historic integrity, such as the famous bluestone walls, has been an ongoing priority. Through thoughtful design and high quality construction new buildings will integrate seamlessly with the existing heritage assets, granting future generations the opportunity to explore this extraordinary location.
