Many clinicians, practitioners and academics note the importance of Professional Development (PD) in Allied Health professions. It begins when someone seeks to extend their knowledge to improve their practice by attending courses, workshops, supervision, and lessons or by simply keeping up to date with the latest research.

In 2016, Peninsula Music Services has decided to begin conducting PD workshops that are designed to extend knowledge, offer a forum for discussion and act as a gathering place for like-minded professionals who seek to keep their knowledge and practice current. These workshops are for new people to the profession as well as more seasoned music therapists, music educators and allied health professionals.
