Position: Team Leader

Deployment of new systems in the Pilbarra and Gold Field region for Downer EDI Group.
My role for this position was to ensure that all members of the team adhered to safety standards within the mine sites and carried out their roles in a timely manner. Liaising with onsite staff and management, ensuring that we, as a team, carried out our roles correctly for the company.

Position: Senior Desktop Support / Deployment Engineer

I have completed working as a contractor in this period of time for BHP Billiton on an 8/6 FIFO roster doing the 1 Desktop Deployment rollout in the Pilbara region. Duties included.
Working as a backup team leader, supervisior for the junior staff
Managing resources and delegating out daily work
Building, staging and Deploying computers
Making sure all safety procedures are followed
Assigning assets and software
Trouble shooting mining applications errors such as Datamine, Surpac and Minsite.

Ensuring all new patches for mining applications had been fully tested prior to installing on user systems.

My job role was on the help desk system supporting users with the normal day to day issues using Windows 7. Using the SCCM system to log jobs for users and to track SLA's making sure all jobs are closed within a set time frame. Creating new user accounts within AD.
Ensuring all backups where carried out daily with no errors.
Installing new phone systems, configuration when required.
I was also required to help develop the ROC system. This allowed me to liaise with the hardware vendors to supply the correct equipment for testing.

For the past 16 months I have been working as a cattle stockman at the Muchea Sales Yards. This entailed scanning and weighing cattle ready for sale the following day.
When required, I advised and repaired IT systems on-site.

After being retrenched, I took 12 months off work to concentrate on building my house on the farm.


2003 – November 2008
Company: HATCH Associates
Position: CAD/Engineering Support.


My roles at Hatch were 12 month in IT department doing desktop support. I then transferred to the PAT group. The main focus within the PAT group was engineering and CAD support. This involved primarily the installation, application and smooth running of engineering programs.

Maintain and renew Cad and Engineering licences, Perth and interstate offices.
Pilot programs to analyse new applications. To ensure the applications met user needs and cost charging back to clients.
Resolve problems within applications and minimise downtime.
Configure changes to tailor applications to user needs.
Documented installation procedures for all engineering packages.
Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless application of new programs.
Assist IT to resolve hardware/software conflicts within engineering applications.
Occasionally required to run training groups and assist senior staff with training requirements.
Troubleshooting. This often required an ability to work across different departments and offices, both local and global, on a range of issues such as licence conflicts, accessibility and implementation of global rollouts for new or updated engineering packages.

Along with all this, I carried out the conversion of Primavera P3 to versions P5 and P6 on a global scale within HATCH.



2001 - 2003
Company: Acer Computer Australia
Position: WA Technical Services Manager

As the manager of the Technical Services Division in WA my role encompassed many aspects. Specific tasks included managing the technical requirements of Acer’s many channel partners and key end-user customers. My involvement began when issues could not be resolved by the channel partners and end-users, and I was required to resolve both technical and relationship issues. In addition to this, I managed and maintained the Acer WA system administration network and was involved in training the channel partners in the latest hardware technology.



1995 – 2000
Company: ComputerCorp Pty Ltd
Position: Senior Customer Network Service Engineer and Supervisor

Employed as the Senior Network Engineer, I installed, repaired, serviced and upgraded Compaq and Hewlett Packard File Servers at the ComputerCorp head office and at customer sites. Shortly after I was contracted to work on-site at
ComputerCorp’s largest customer base, including many remote sites for various companies including Western Mining, Western Power and Woodside Petroleum. At
Western Power I initially started on desktop support, and moved to Western Mining, where I performed desktop support, system administration and importantly SOE roll-out at Leinster and Mt Keith for 3 years. This also included software auditing and writing training manuals. This was followed by a promotion to Team Leader at Woodside Petroleum of the Technical Support Division, where I performed both technical support whilst ensuring the Team maintained a high standard of service, with the emphasis on customer focus as required by Woodside. At all times I was involved in managing the team, both from support and the working environment.


1993 – 1995
Company: AlphaWest
Position: Network Engineer

As the Network Engineer, I performed in-house and on-site repairs to all systems for both AlphaWest and customers. I was involved in setting-up and configuring Novell and NT operating systems and Windows 95. I was also contracted to WAPET where I was involved in upgrading their Novell servers and fixing the communications link between Barrow and Thevenard Island.

1987 – 1993

Position: Service Manager

I was employed by N.I.X Computers to manage the Service Department and Supervise the Technical Staff. As the Manager it was imperative that we met deadlines on repairs, allocated the appropriate staff to repairs and service calls. I managed all customer issues with regard to technical and software support and ensured that work was carried out efficiently, reliably and as cost effectively as possible with a customer focus. I was also involved in management decisions involving business expansion and ensuring a productive and happy team environment.


1985 – 1987
