Me

I have been training the ving tsun system since 2009, when I became a student of Dave Jardine at his Lake Macquarie school. Dave proved to be a great teacher and mentor, and I spent many long hours under his instruction. In 2012, I completed progress through the ving tsun system and was certified as an instructor by Dave after 1200 hours of training.
After moving to Sydney in 2015, I trained with Chu Shong Tin line instructor Mark Laing, gaining valuable insights into the internal aspects of ving tsun. Alongside my ving tsun training, I also spent a year training Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu under Sensei Gavin Barton in Hornsby, an experience which greatly developed my perspective on martial arts, combat and ving tsun itself. In 2015 I began to teach ving tsun in Sydney and my journey into the system continues.

My teacher

Dave Jardine is an independent instructor now teaching at Long Jetty, Queensland. Dave is a very experienced martial artist and teacher and has been training ving tsun since 1991, but he has also trained in boxing, karate, tae kwon do, Choy Lee Fut Lohan Kung, Yang and Chen style Taijiquan, the latter of which he was an instructor of for three years. He has poured his lifetime of experience in martial arts into his ving tsun teaching and worked closely with his students to develop a highly effective and progressive teaching style, drawing on his training as a mentor and study of biomechanics and culminating in the formulation of the High Performance Ving Tsun curriculum.
