Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)
Peer Assisted Study Sessions are a great way to learn from other students.
PASS is casual student-led supplement to lectures and tutorials. It’s run by trained students (PASS facilitators) who have already been successful in specific courses.
What is PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions)?
PASS is a free, voluntary academic assistance program that uses peer-led group study to help students succeed in challenging subjects.
PASS sessions are facilitated by PASS Leaders - senior students who have excelled in the subject in the past. Sessions provide a valuable opportunity for students to seek help and advice in a friendly, relaxed environment.
PASS aims to provide a learning atmosphere which differs from the traditional tutorial environment. Evidence shows that students who attend PASS regularly achieve higher results and are less likely to fail or withdraw from a subject. PASS is also a great way to connect with other students studying the same course.
