Parwan Valley Mushrooms Pty Ltd is a joint venture between Australian process improvement and asset management company, Mecrus Pty Ltd, and Perfection Fresh Australia.
Melbourne-based Mecrus provides operational improvement solutions to the energy, water, mining and resources and agribusiness sectors. Perfection Fresh, based in Sydney, is a leading Australian food company with more than 30 years' experience in marketing fresh fruit and vegetables.
Parwan Valley Mushrooms produces some 50 tonnes of mushrooms a week from a 17-hectare purpose-built mushroom farm at Parwan, near Bacchus Marsh, west of Melbourne.
Our facility incorporates leading edge mushroom farm construction and operational technologies including a multiple climate control system, fully automated irrigation system and packing capabilities customised to suit customers' specifications.
With nearly 10,000 square metres of mushrooms at varying production phases under cultivation at any one time, we harvest daily, all year `round and transport directly to our customers.
More than 80 people including specialist growers, harvesters, harvest and maintenance managers, Quality Assurance, human resources and administration personnel are employed at Parwan Valley Mushrooms.
