Welcome to Parson's Retreat, a self-contained miner's cottage in Bendigo. The cottage is located in a heritage precinct on a corner location where woodland ducks visit to sit on the chimneys, and rosellas and cockatoos frequent the garden. Built in 1882, Parson's Retreat has been completely renovated and refurbished in 2015 with quality furnishings for your enjoyment and relaxation. Original features have been restored such as Baltic pine floors, dado boards and an early clothes copper in the back garden. A surprisingly spacious cottage, Parson's Retreat has two bedrooms and two dedicated eating areas in a dining room and bright breakfast area. The main bedroom is large with ten foot ceilings and double aspect windows. It has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. All beds have non-partner disturbance mattresses and quality linen. Enjoy relaxing in the comfortable lounge fitted with TV/DVD player. The kitchen retains its original charm and is fully functional with newly fitted cabinetry and appliances. The bathroom hosts a roll top bath and there is a second separate toilet. An efficient central heating and cooling system gives you all year climate control. The garden is ample size, fully fenced with lush green grass and a bricked courtyard seating area.
Take time to sit beneath the old apple tree or under the front verandah and read the Saturday paper which is delivered to your door. A welcome hamper greets you on arrival.
