Outdoor Recreation Hunter Tafe

Our Certificate III program qualifies people to work in controlled outdoor recreation environments such as centre based camps and adventure tourism. This program takes 6 months and students get to go on some amazing trips including; bushwalking in the Barrington Tops; White water canoeing on the Nymboida river and rock climbing in the Blue Mountains. they develop the skills and knowledge to be able to guide people through safe and rewarding experiences in the outdoors.

Our certificate IV program allow graduates to guide in remote settings and instruct outdoor skills to a high standard. This program includes a 21 day final assessment trip which will venture from the peak of Mt Kosciusko to the ocean via the the main range and the snowy river.

We also offer certificate II programs which can be undertaken whilst still at school via a TVET pathway. The Certificate II involves two ten day trips and includes activities such as bushwalking, rock climbing, canoeing, surfing, abseiling and white water kayaking. Successful completion of the two trips awards you a certificate II in outdoor recreation and two unit towards your HSC
