Our Mates' Farm

Our Mates’ Farm is a small family-run mixed farming enterprise where we seek to produce high quality, sustainable food with the highest standards of welfare.

We have around 9ha of organic apple orchard. Nineteen varieties are eating apples including Gala, Fujis and several heritage varieties, while ten cider varieties are coming into production soon. More heritage eating varieties are planned for grafting next spring to extend our apple season and give our customers a little taste of Tasmania’s Apple Isle reputation!

The farm also runs Wiltshire Horn sheep (a lovely meat breed that self-sheds their wool), a small herd of lowline black Angus cattle that we rotationally graze through the pasture, and free-range heritage Large Black and Wessex Saddleback pigs that have the best view on the block and are fed organic apples of their own. Our Muscovy ducks have full run of our dam and provide us with rich yellow eggs.
