Oranje Tractor Wine

Oranje Tractor Wines is a small, organic vineyard near Albany on the pristine and amazing south coast of Western Australia. A mere 8 acres of vineyard, plus a mixed fruit orchard and potager garden, Oranje Tractor was selected for inclusion in the Royal Visit to Australia & NZ in November 2015 by HRH Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. The private visit comprised an orchard tour and garden walk, followed by meeting the friends, workers and woofers invited. A beautiful birthday cake, made by a former woofer - French pastry chef Nickolas Fleury - was presented to Prince Charles and the crowd sang happy birthday. Their Royal Highnesses then enjoyed a private tasting of a selection of Oranje Tractor's finest wines and some fabulous local cheese and asparagus. We also offered some garden produce, and HRH Camilla announced that the avocado was "the best I've ever eaten". Before departing the Royal couple chatted again to the invited guests and inspected the wood-fired oven built by our friend Glenn and decorated by Jess & Ramiro (a couple of recent woofers). A fine day was had by all - including the Royals!
