Our teeth need regular care and attention by our dentist. Although we may brush our teeth every day this is still not enough. Plaque builds up on our teeth. This accumulates from the foods and beverages we consume. Plaque contains bacteria. The food debris becomes invaded by bacteria and forms between our teeth and below the gum line which causes decay.

This needs to be cleaned and treated regularly for prevention.
Our preventative treatments include:
Scale and polishing.
Fluoride treatments.
Radiographs.
Fissure Sealants.

Key Points to Remember
Eat Well
Enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods
and healthy snacks.
Limit your intake of sweet foods, especially
between meals.

Drink Well
Drink plenty of tap water.
Avoid sweet or fizzy drinks. If consumed, have them with meals rather than between meals.

Clean Well
Clean your teeth at least twice a day.
Brush your teeth gently and thoroughly with fluoride toothpaste and a soft toothbrush.
If you can’t clean your teeth, chew sugarless
gum after meals.

Play well
Wear a professionally fitted mouth guard when training and playing contact sports.
Know what to do if a permanent tooth is damaged or knocked out.

Stay well
Don’t wait for a problem -
have regular oral health check-ups.
Ask your oral health professional how often you should have check-ups.
If you smoke, quit for good.
