More about NCC early learners

UNLOCK YOUR CHILD’S POTENTIAL

Giving your child a head start in life is more important now than ever before. To inspire a lifelong love of learning from a young age, we have developed NCC early learners – a dedicated early learning centre within the Nambour Christian College community.

The purpose-built centre is a new way of delivering early education for children between two and a half years old and school age. With a specially designed curriculum, professionally trained teachers and a fun, nurturing setting, NCC early learners is well equipped to kick-start your child’s education. Our facilities include a working farm, an orchard and opening mid-year, right next to the centre is a state of the art Learn to Swim complex. The learning centre is specially designed to encourage children to explore, create and observe their surroundings and we combine these experiences with a supportive, wholesome learning environment to bring out the best in your child.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

The NCC early learners program is unlike any other on the Sunshine Coast. Part of the Nambour Christian College community, our purpose-built early learning centre delivers education in a playful, stimulating environment. Under the guidance of our early learning teachers, your child will take part in a curriculum of exploration and play-based learning that has been developed to bring out each child’s natural abilities.

Our program is informed by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which delivers early education experiences that are full of wonder and curiosity. To provide an inspiring setting for this style of learning, every element of our innovative centre has been carefully chosen and arranged to encourage children to explore, create and observe their surroundings. Colours, lights and engaging spaces are all an important part of the educational framework, as is learning through drawing, creative play, stories, negotiation and music. We combine these experiences with activities such as visiting the on-site farm and attending school performances, as well as exciting excursions to places like Australia Zoo, a fire station and the Maroochy Botanic Gardens – to name a few.

In this setting, children come to understand important concepts, build self-confidence and discover the joy of learning – all before they’ve even reached school age. Underpinning this educational framework is a nurturing environment where wholesome Christian values are shared and social interaction is encouraged between children.

The opening of NCC early learners makes Nambour Christian College one of just a few Sunshine Coast schools to offer an integrated educational program for two and half-year-olds through to Year 12.

SESSION TIMES & FEES

Our session times are designed to suit your lifestyle. NCC early learners is open from 7:00am to 6:00pm on weekdays. Please note we are closed for two weeks over the Christmas holiday period.

ENROLMENT

To make the transition smooth for you and your child, we offer a simple enrolment process. After accepting an application and completing a successful interview, we invite you and your child to attend an orientation day where we provide your early learning pack and a parent handbook. Then, its time for the fun to begin! On a child’s first day, we encourage parents to stay until the child has settled.

ENROLMENT REQUIREMENTS

Pre-Kindy Program: Children may be enrolled for any number of days.

Kindergarten Program: Children are required to be enrolled for a minimum of two days.

PARENT WORKSHOPS

Learning doesn’t stop when you grow up. In fact, being a parent is quite often the biggest learning curve of all. To give back to the members of our community, we offer a range of parent workshops that are delivered in a relaxed and supportive setting.
