Nature's Essentials Muesli

I was lucky enough to grow up in a home where good food and creativity was what eating was all about. The occasional Friday night fish & chips and party food notwithstanding.

My passion for cooking grew early. My father had a restaurant where I spent time during my school holidays and inspired me to enter into a chef's apprenticeship… 20yrs later I still love entertaining and providing good food for my family, friends and lovers of fine food.

After having my daughter I went back to school and completed my certificate 3 & 4 in fitness to help people improve their health & well-being in an additional way.

My mother inspired the idea of sugar free toasted muesli with a recipe she had. I used it, adapted it and played around with ingredients.

Using only fresh and dried fruits as my toasting agent I was adamant I didn’t want the sugars and oils that are added to so may other mueslis claiming to be healthy, or using cheaper filler products just to make the bag full.

I use ingredients my children, family and I enjoy eating and for their nutritional value. A friend who is a very well respected naturopath told me that having half a teaspoon of cinnamon a day in your diet reduces the risk of diabetes and lowers blood pressure. So the subtle spice of cinnamon combined with the beautiful gentle flavour of fragrant orange creates a lovely sweetness to my muesli.

My passion for creating this muesli is not just the great taste but the health benefits it will have for everyone who eats it. So combining my knowledge of nutrition with my cooking expertise, Natures Essentials was born.

My children and family are now lucky enough to have great healthy food and the enthusiasm to also create it with me…… Justifying the occasional Friday night fish & chips!
