Mystic Sands Golf Country Club was developed by the Pty Ltd as part of the real estate development at Mystic Sands. This was to offer a lifestyle option for residents.

The golf course was started in 1991 with a lot of hard work in the early stages.
The initial course designer was Mr Barry McDonagh, who designed the first stage nine holes with fairways, tees and greens.

The directors of Mystic Sands Pty Ltd Mr Arthur Johnson and Mr John Sexton appointed Golf Professional Colin Nagle to manage the facility in June 1993. Colin reshaped Mystic Sands golf course creating, doglegs, bunkering and planting over 2500 trees creating a very challenging course. He later designed another 9 tees to give the layout a more balanced golf course. Mystic Sands golf country club was opened by Mr. Kelnagle OA (legend of golf) and Mr. Les Tyrell, Mayor of Thuringowa, on September 4th 1993.

Since then swimming pool, lawn bowls and tennis facilities have been added, creating a remarkable lifestyle for the residents of Mystic Sands, Balgal Beach & Rollingstone.

The director Mr Arthur Johnson, being a former navel pilot, use to land his plane on the 6th- 7th fairways much to everyone's enjoyment. In 1994 he invited the RSL to form a branch at Mystic Sands, which still operates today and assists the community in various ways. Mystic Sands was very successful in running many Pro AM golf tournaments, sponsored by Mike Carney Toyota and was awarded golf Tournament of the year 2001. Players have included Ian Stanley, Mike Ferguson, Ossie Moore and Peter McWhhinnly.

Mystic Sands Golf and Country Club is now owned by the developers Airspin, headed by Terry McKinnon. The facility is now leased by Steve and Vonnie Wynne, trading as Mystic Sands Gold and Recreation Club.

The facility offers great features with a very relaxed country lifestyle at affordable prices. One of the main features is the Mystic Sands Golf Recreation Club. The Club is open to the public seven days a week.

The club is renowned for its hospitality with dining and bar facilities, including take away licence.

Colin Nagle is the resident golf professional and offers advice on all aspects of the game.
