Mt Dutton Bay Woolshed

Situated on the southern coastal tip of South Australia’s untouched ‘Eyre Peninsula’ where the coast showcases the best in natural and unspoilt beaches and scenery.....where the Marble Ranges overlook the sea.

Mt Dutton Bay Woolshed is located in the district of Wangary 52kms N/W of Port Lincoln on the Flinders Highway. Located within the Coffin Bay waterways, known for the best Oysters you will ever taste!

For just $10 and adult and $5 a child you can experience the Heritage listed ‘Mt Dutton Bay Woolshed’, a ‘working’ Museum consisting of hundreds of local items depicting the history of the Shearing, farming and fishing era. These items adorn the restored stone walls of this Heritage listed woolshed. Some items were found under debris of the Woolshed at the time of restoration (mid 1992). A popular item of interest is the fully restored ‘Robinson double-box Wool press’ which is in excellent working order.

The Mt Dutton Bay Jetty which adjoins the Woolshed is also heritage listed, and was a major ‘land-sea link’ for the region.

Heritage Tours’ of the Woolshed Museum are available for large or small groups, coach tours and school groups. Our famous ‘Duttonshire Teas’ is also available for groups, which consists of ‘homemade scones‘, local quandong jam and whipped cream’ with brewed coffee or tea.... and true Australian hospitality! Enjoy the rustic charm of our fully restored heritage listed stone Cottage. Clean, comfortable accommodation is available for up to 8 people. Upstairs the 'romantic loft' with queen size bed, downstairs 1 x bedroom bunks - sleeping 4 guests. The lounge has one sofa-bed lounge. The cottage is fully self contained.
