Mountadam Vineyards

Mountadam Vineyards is located in the High Eden sub-region of Eden Valley. The original property was purchased by wine industry legend David Wynn in the late 1960's. The original plantings were divided by High Eden Road. David Wynn selected the cool, elevated site on which the estate sits with a single vision in mind; to produce wines of distinction which had elegance and structure.

In 1972 Wynn established the Mountadam Vineyards winery and brand. In 1984 Wynn's son Adam took the reigns. Sixteen years later the vineyards, winery and brand passed out of the Wynn family and into the hands of Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH).

In 2005 David and Jenni Brown purchased the winery and surrounding vineyards and returned it to family ownership. David and Jenni both share Wynn's vision for the vineyard and brand. The ten years since they purchased the estate have seen significant investment in both the vineyard and winery. In 2007 the Brown family purchased a parcel of farming land directly opposite Mountadam Vineyard site which has been part of the original Wynn estate.

December 2015 saw the reunion of the original Wynn estate after the High Eden Vineyard was purchased by the Brown family from Treasury Wine Estates. The High Eden Vineyard has been long regarded as one of the iconic Eden Valley Riesling vineyards.

Mountadam Vineyards have recently welcomed Helen McCarthy to the team in position of Chief Winemaker. Helen is a strong supporter of Eden Valley and believes wines of distinction are made in the vineyard. Her role at Mountadam Vineyards will see her oversee both vineyard and winery operations. Helen is keen to produce wines with elegance and structure and will provide focus and attention to achieving the vision that the Brown family have.
