Motel Strahan

One of the newest motels in Tasmania, Motel Strahan is located on the fringe of the beautiful World Heritage Wilderness of Tasmania's West Coast. Within this wilderness playground are ancient rainforests that are thousands of years old, rugged coastlines, shores that are buffeted by huge seas, and beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. There are a multitude of "soft-eco" and "adrenaline-pumping" activities to enjoy from Strahan. And then of course there's the plethora of wildlife that call this amazing wilderness home; including the Tasmanian Devil! Furthermore, its is speculated that if the legendary Tasmanian Tiger is still in existence, it's home is most likely within this World Heritage Wilderness.

And of course after a hard day sight-seeing, you'll need a comfy bed and hot shower! Owners of Motel Strahan, Richard and Nigel Morgan, have lived in Strahan, Tasmania for many years running their Cottage business and working within the town. They identified a "niche" in the local market; to provide quality Strahan accommodation at great prices. Their concept was to build a small motel complex that provided all the creature comforts and was modern and informal. In December 2006 Motel Strahan was completed. Richard and Nigel are owner-operators of the Motel, and are happy to share their knowledge of Strahan and Tasmania. And before you leave, don't forget to meet "George", their Old English Sheepdog!
