Welcome to Moore Motorsports Australia!

We specialise in building customised, affordable V8 LS1 engines for Sprintcars, along with supplying all the parts you need for your racing machine.

In 2010, Darren Moore began developing, what we believe to be, the first modified V8 LS1 engines for use in Sprintcars in Australia. His aim: to create an affordable alternative to traditional engines, allowing more people to join the sport and help keep Sprintcar racing alive at local tracks around the country.

In March 2011, Darren began lobbying the governing bodies to allow these engines to be raced in Australia. With initial approvals, the first modified LS1 hit the racetrack at Easter 2011 in Karratha, Western Australia.

It wasn’t until October 2012 that final approval was given to race the modified LS1 engines in Australia.

In the time it took to get the final approval to race, Darren had been investing in research and development of his LS1 engines. It wasn’t long until he and some fellow Sprintcar owners hit the racetracks in Northern Western Australia, with their new engines, at tracks including Port Hedland Speedway, Nickol Bay Speedway (Karratha) and Broome Speedway. While racing his LS1 Darren has had numerous wins, including wins against various other classes.

Now, in 2016, the most affordable V8 open wheel class in Australia, V8 Non Wing Sprints Australia, with agreement from USAC Racing, have adopted the concept. Races are currently being scheduled in both Western Australia and Queensland, with Moore Motorsports LS1 engines and parts already in demand.
